Starboard anchor installation on a tanker

On Friday

We received the order confirmation from a trusted customer to carry out an anchor installation with 11 lengths on starboard side. All necessary equipment (heating equipment, hydraulic jacking tools, fitting tools, rigging materials, …) were loaded on our truck and all needed permits were taken care of.

On Saturday morning
Our foreman and the team of fitters drove the truck with the necessary equipment from our workshop at Antwerp to the loading berth of the pontoon in the port of Antwerp. All new 11 lengths of the anchor chain, anchor, swivel and patent shackles, etc. were unloaded from the truck(s) on to our pontoon (70 x 22 x 4 meter) by means of a mobile crane 80T.

-All anchor chain lengths flattened out on pontoon by means of mobile crane.
-All anchor chain lengths connected to each other by means of new patent shackles.
-All new securing pins installed inside new patent shackles and secured by lead (melted).
-New swivel connected between new anchor and last new length anchor chain.
-Securing pins installed inside and secured by lead (melted).

On Saturday evening
We also collected one motor at our workshop for transportation to the vessel (together with the anchor and anchor chains) for delivery on board, so the crew could exchange the motor of the mooring winch.

On Sunday
The motor and stores were loaded onto the pontoon by means of our crane truck.

On Monday evening
The pontoon shifted from the loading berth alongside the vessel by means of a work barge. The equipment was then installed and tested for good performance. Assistance was asked and delivered by our fitters to the ship’s crew for re-installation of the motor on the mooring winch.

-Emergency release from the bitter end and pin removed.
-Steel wire attached to mooring winch and lowered on deck of pontoon.
-First new anchor chain length connected with steel wire.
-First new anchor chain length hoisted on board by means of steel wire and mooring winch.
-New chain installed over chain nest of anchor winch, chain temporary secured.
-1 part of new anchor chain lowered into chain locker.
-Anchor chain brought into position of emergency release by means of chain blocks inside chain locker.
-Connecting pin re installed and fastened with securing pin of emergency release system.
-Steel wire removed.
-All new lengths anchor chain hoisted on board by means of anchor winch.
-New anchor hoisted in to hawse pipe by means of anchor winch.
-Work barge and pontoon shifted back to its mooring berth.

On Tuesday
Several stanchions were re installed in place and fully welded onto the pontoon and it was a job well done.

Anker installeren antwerpen

Vrijdag
We kregen orderbevestiging van een vertrouwde klant voor het uitvoeren van een installatie van een nieuw anker met 11 lengtes aan stuurboord kant. Alle benodigde apparatuur ( verwarming , hydraulische jacking gereedschap , fitting gereedschap , rigging materialen , … ) werden op de truck geladen en er werd voor alle benodigde vergunningen gezorgd .

Op zaterdagochtend
Onze foreman en een team van monteurs ging met de vrachtwagen  naar de ligplaats van het ponton in de haven van Antwerpen. Alle nieuwe 11 lengtes van de ankerketting , anker , zwenken en octrooi sluitingen, enz. werden gelost van de vrachtwagen ( s ) naar onze ponton ( 70 x 22 x 4 meter ) met behulp van een mobiele kraan 80T .

– Alle ankerketting lengtes afgevlakt op ponton met behulp van mobiele kraan .
– Alle ankerketting lengten door nieuwe octrooi schakels met elkaar verbonden .
– Alle nieuwe borgpennen geïnstalleerd in nieuw patent boeien en beveiligd door lood ( gesmolten) .
– Nieuwe draaibare aangesloten tussen nieuwe anker en laatste nieuwe lengte ankerketting .
– Het beveiligen van pinnen in geïnstalleerd en beveiligd door lood ( gesmolten) .

Op zaterdag avond
We namen ook een motor mee vanin onze werkplaats voor het transport naar het schip (samen met het anker en ankerkettingen ) voor levering aan boord , zodat de bemanning de motor van de verhaallier wisselen .

De motor en winkels werden op de ponton geladen door middel van onze kraanwagen .

Op maandag avond
Het ponton verschoof van de laad-ligplaats naast het vaartuig door middel van een werk schuit . De apparatuur werd vervolgens geïnstalleerd en getest voor goede prestaties. Assistentie werd gevraagd voor het installeren van de motor op de verhaallier .

– Noodontgrendeling het bittere einde en pin verwijderd .
– Staaldraad bevestigd aan verhaallier en neergelaten op het dek van de ponton .
– Eerste nieuwe ankerketting lengte verbonden met staaldraad .
– Eerste nieuwe ankerketting lengte aan boord gehesen door middel van staaldraad en verhaallier .
– Nieuwe ketting geïnstalleerd dan keten nest van ankerlier , keten tijdelijk vastgezet .
-1 Onderdeel van de nieuwe ankerketting neergelaten in chain locker .
– Ankerketting in positie gebracht van noodontgrendeling door middel van ketting blokken binnen keten locker .
– Verbindingspen opnieuw geïnstalleerd en vastgemaakt met borgpen van noodontkoppelingssysteem .
– Staaldraad verwijderd .
– Alle nieuwe lengtes ankerketting aan boord gehesen door middel van ankerlier .
– Nieuwe anker gehesen om pijp Hawse door middel van ankerlier .
– Werk barge en ponton verschoven terug naar zijn ligplaats .

op dinsdag
Verschillende stanchions werden opnieuw in plaats geïnstalleerd en volledig gelast op het ponton en het was een job tot een goed einde gebracht.

A famous crane manufacturer relied on the knowhow and experience of Longueville to assist one of their engineers during the repairs on one some of their heavy lift cranes. We’ve send some of our best men to assist the engineer to replace the holderbrackets on crane number 1 and 2. Our labour force stayed in Rotterdam during the entire period of the replacement ( ± 1 week ).

Since we already performed the same works for this manufacturer in Brest, France couple of months ago we could complete the repair in a very efficient way.

Een beroemde kraanfabrikant vertrouwde op de knowhow en ervaring van Longueville om één van hun ingenieurs tijdens de reparaties aan een aantal van hun heavy lift kranen te assisteren. We stuurden een aantal van onze beste mannen naar de ingenieur om de holderbrackets op kraan nummer 1 en 2 te vervangen. Onze werkmannen bleven in Rotterdam tijdens de gehele duur van de vervanging( ± 1 week ).

Aangezien we al dezelfde werken uitgevoerd hadden voor deze fabrikant in Brest en Frankrijk een paar maanden voordien konden we de herstelling in een zeer efficiënte manier voltooien .

Omdat Longueville vaak werkt met de Duitse gevestigde fabrikant , hebben we veel ervaring opgebouwd met kranen ;

We are an allround, flexible marine services workshop located in the port of Antwerp. We are specialized in all afloat repairs and offer a 24/7 hrs service. Our mobile teams are dedicated to carry out a fast and maximum cost effective repair in the ports of Antwerp, Zeebrugge, Ghent, Rotterdam, Flushing. If needed we can send our teams onboard to perform the repairs during the voyage. We have the possibility to offer repair berths. Next to the repairs and marine services, we also do industrial works such as steel and construction works for our industrial clients.

Marine Services

Our services include the following ; general ship repair, all kinds of maintenance, all welding works with our certified welders, pipe repairs and renewals, general rigging works, repairs of winches, replacement of anchors and chains, mechanical repairs and maintenance of main and auxiliary engine, pumps, compressors and hydraulics. Besides this we also perform diving works and underwater ship repair, these are being tackled by our own in-house divers on a very regular base. Propeller polishings, all kinds of surveys, hull repairs, etc… are day-to-day business. Our divers are also available for all kinds of industrial diving works.

Last months, we have been contacted by several shipowners to perform port repairs in the port of Antwerp, Ghent, Flushing, Zeebrugge and Rotterdam.

From a small insert plate, renewal of SW pipes, up-to rigging in and out rampwires for a fleet carcarriers and major insert plates and steel repairs. We also performed some voyage repairs; fe. voyage repairs was carried out from Antwerp to Rotterdam and back for some steel repairs ( Panama chock had been damaged and had to be repaired ).
And many more repairs were carried out in good order.

And off course our divers had good repairs as well. Several propeller polishings were carried out, In water surveys and inspections were made, some yachts were lifted, overboards got plugged, … .

Een beroemde kraanfabrikant vertrouwde op de knowhow en ervaring van Longueville om één van hun ingenieurs tijdens de reparaties aan een aantal van hun heavy lift kranen te assisteren. We stuurden een aantal van onze beste mannen naar de ingenieur om de holderbrackets op kraan nummer 1 en 2 te vervangen. Onze werkmannen bleven in Rotterdam tijdens de gehele duur van de vervanging( ± 1 week ).

Aangezien we al dezelfde werken uitgevoerd hadden voor deze fabrikant in Brest en Frankrijk een paar maanden voordien konden we de herstelling in een zeer efficiënte manier voltooien .

Omdat Longueville vaak werkt met de Duitse gevestigde fabrikant , hebben we veel ervaring opgebouwd met kranen ;

A famous crane manufacturer relied on the knowhow and experience of Longueville to assist one of their engineers during the repairs on one some of their heavy lift cranes. We’ve send some of our best men to assist the engineer to replace the holderbrackets on crane number 1 and 2. Our labour force stayed in Rotterdam during the entire period of the replacement ( ± 1 week ).

Since we already performed the same works for this manufacturer in Brest, France couple of months ago we could complete the repair in a very efficient way.
